Monagós, whose name means “monk” in Greek, is a wine with a mystical and profound character, created from a carefully crafted blend of Syrah and Graciano. Syrah, perfectly adapted to the climate of central Spain, finds its most complex and elegant expression in this blend, enhanced by 12 months of aging in French and American oak barrels.
It is a wine for curious palates seeking complexity, freshness, and a personality marked by its Mediterranean origin and meticulous production.
With a deep cherry red color with violet edges, it appears bright and very glyceric, with a colored tear that anticipates its richness. On the nose, it shows an explosion of aromas: pomegranates, currants, aromatic herbs like thyme and rockrose, and spices such as cinnamon. There are also mineral notes of graphite, floral hints of violets, and sweet touches of grenadine, strawberry tree liqueur, and cocoa. With aeration, it reveals sweet memories of compote and strawberry bubblegum.
On the palate, it is broad, with a fresh balanced acidity and silky tannins. Fruity flavors predominate, highlighting blueberries, red currants, and cassis liqueur. The aftertaste surprises with evocative chimney smoke, rounding out a complex and harmonious experience.
Serve between 16 and 17 °C to fully enjoy its aromatic expression and enveloping texture.
