Pago del Vicario
Where it all begins
Our vineyard is not just a stretch of land: it is a mosaic of nuances. Divided into 29 plots, each with its own personality and vocation, we cultivate a selection of varieties that speak the language of diversity:
Red varieties: Tempranillo, Garnacha, Graciano, Merlot, Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Petit Verdot.
White varieties: Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay.
Tempranillo, Spain’s quintessential grape, is our backbone, but each variety finds its ideal place depending on soil texture, sun exposure, and the experience we want to express in each wine.
A terroir that speaks
The rolling topography of the estate, with gentle slopes descending towards the Guadiana, creates a privileged microclimate. Mild temperatures and pronounced thermal contrasts between day and night favor slow ripening rich in aromas.
The diversity of soils, ranging from sandy loam and silty loam to quartzite and slate outcrops, allows each plot to offer a unique expression.
At Pago del Vicario, no two plots are alike. For this reason, vineyard management is individualized, adapting techniques to the specific characteristics of each soil and to the identity of the wine that will be born there.
